Re: Mac OSX snow leopard no comms

That did it. I should have checked that, feel rather stupid now. But windows usually comes up with an error message about the drivers, this mac had no such message, and in the hardware utility it showed it as a serial converter, so i assumed the drivers were already there.

Thanks.

Map Mixer??

Hi.

Been searching for awhile no and can't seem to find the old thread on this.

Bruce or Al i think built a circuit to compbine individual MAP sensor signals ( mainly for ITB use ) to allow for a better indication of engine load.
The circuit was condenced quite a bit by other users...

Is this ...

Re: A few MSII questions.
As for timing I get it now I think. The megamanual is just a really long read then I started reading about timing offsets and was looking at other people's maps and it shows like 6* of advance and they say "note there's a 12* offset" so it's really 18*? I'm not sure if I'm understanding that ...
also, the disk that came with the setup has a megatune program on it but i cant get it to work, my computer has vista on it, will this matter
Do you mean that the program wont work? or simply that you cant get it to communicate with the MS?

Re: help me, i beg

kinda have to agree, its doubtfull that you hurt anything, sieriously anyway, though it is easy to burn up a coil or coil driver if the settings are not correct. Dont panic, you ( like most ) will be able to get it running in short order if you take some time to do a bit of homework. Follow the link ...

Re: help me, i beg

You NEED to start here, http://www.megamanual.com/mtabcon.htm do some reading, I know there is a lot to digest, But it will answer 99.99% of your questions. Start with the Megatune section and try to get comms, If you cant communicate with MS then there is no way you will be able to set it up and ...

Check out the threads dealing with MSII and low impeadance injectors, or Goto Diy auto tune and check out the Megemeat 2008.
Basicly the V3 board and MSII has problems with the flyback circuit on some aplications using low impeanance injectors, there are a cfew recomended repairs, the ...

I belive that is just a visual referance to illistrate low to high values. It is usefull if you have a number ( bin ) way higher or lower than adjoining bins.

Re: GM Rochester TBI inlet fittings - what type?

I was lucky enough to find a GM TB that had SAE fittings already in it, they are pipe thread into tje TB, wish I could tell you what they came off. I think they came from an old S10. I just swapped the pod out the the 454 TB I am using. Joe

What is your timing doing? I noticed on My El-comino that leaving the timing curve flat at and near idle made it much more steady.

Re: Throttle locking at wide open

Joe, this is Joe  , I actually agree with you about the grounding through the throttle cable, and i also agree that just a railed TPS will not cause a stut down, however a bad signal return can, its happened to me. mine was because i tied the HEI module ground to the return ground ...

Re: Throttle locking at wide open

Ok, here is another scenario, let us assume that because your datalog showed 20mpa, that the TV was closed. A bad ground on your sensor return would cause the TPS to read full open, it also would most likely cause MS to shut down. When i first installed my Dads unit with the relay box i forgot to ...

Re: Throttle locking at wide open

I have to go with the bad ground here, unless somehow you have physicly mounted the tps wrong, witch does not explain the low MAP value, a binding or grounding throug the throtle cable makes the most sence, givven the fact that everything shut off. i would double chech the chasis ground to the ...
