Throttle body size. Is biggest best?

Post by YellaYomper »

I'm fairly new to the forum and am in the process of gathering hardware and info to convert my Ford stage 2 V6 essex 3.1L.

I want to port inject but the current inlet manifold doesn't give much room to fit injectors onto the middle two cylinders on each bank due to the twin choke webber position. Ford fitted these engines to Ford Transits and used a single ventui carb on these engines because the required horsepower wasn't as great. This manifold would overcome the problem but I worry that it will strangle the engines potential.

Is there a calculation formula I can use to determine the optimum orifce(s) I need in the inlet manifold for my particular engine.

Any info greatfully receieved.
