is it recommended that i shield all 3 TPS wires since it is fairly close to the alternator?

TPS is an analogue input. The chances that you need to shield any of the wires is very low. High frequency digital inputs are much more susceptible to RF noise and crosstalk (Like the Tach input)
1980 450slc converted to MegaSquirt electronic fuel injection and couldn't be happier! Using the stock dizzy and a MSD 6AL ignition along with the stock Bosch ignition box. Home built fuel rails out of aluminum fuel rail stock. Using 19lb mustang injectors I purchased off of ebay.

i have been battling EMI. i think i have cleaned up my power very nicely, but it continued. mostly in the form of TPS fluttering and causing false accel enrichments.

just last night:

i scoped from the TPS ground wire (grounded back to ECU) to the signal wire (pin 22) and i could see the ignition events loud and clear. i pulled the TPS pigtail off, connected ground wire to signal wire and the TPS flutter was gone along with the false accel enrichments.

i really think it must be radiated into the wire like an antenna. intuition makes me think the signal and VREF wires should be shielded, not sure about the ground wire. i have not tried the shielding yet, i hope that fixes it.

To remove it as a possible source use a 2 wire sheilded cable .Use the sheild as the ground wire.
