pintle vs disc design

Post by AGDrake57 »

Good morning group.

I'm shopping for replacement injectors for MS'd chevrolet TPI 350, Gen I. I've read delphi's glowing claims for their disc design in multec injectors, and of course Bosch's pintle design is widespread.

Does anyone have experience with either to be able to say if there is any practical advantage in either design?

My car is a daily driver I plan to keep, and I'm looking for reliability and precision, and resistance to bleed down, as opposed to raw horsepower and flow.

My induction is early TPI (~1988 - originally had 9th cold start injector). If any chevrolet enthusiasts have had success with replacement injectors for this ilk of induction, I'd love to know.

Maybe not much help... but i switched from single pintle to 4 pintle spraypattern (both bosch) and got a ver much smoother engine with what i imagine is better mid-range torque, should have been dynoed, would be interresting to see the difference since i can feel it.
Peugeot/Citroen XU9 JAZ(4cyl 1.9litre) engine with 60-2 VR wheel decoding singel coil and dizzy spark and 360cc 0 280 150 431 injectors. Msns-E hi-res 10d2 and E85(Ethanol) in the gastank.

Interesting. I was not aware of the 4 pintle design, but I will check into it.

Thanks, Drake.
