transient fuelling

Post by williams »

hi,

i am building a c20let vauxhall 2ltr turbo engine.

i was planning on using the throttle bodies from a nissan pulsar gtir on the engine aswell, BUT, i have been told that my transient fuelling will be a mile out.

im not 100% what transient fuelling is either.

would a megasquirt be suitable for this setup?

thanks

I presume transient fuelling refers to Acceleration Enrichment. This is the brief time (0.5sec) after the throttle pedal has been moved from one position to another, normally deeper.

That statement is a typical "wild statement" with very little basis to stand on - normally uttered by the more uninformed.

MS is 100% suitable for just about any petrol engine setup. Go have a look at www.msruns.com to see what's been done so far :-)
Best regards

Transient fuelling is the changes in, cycle to cycle, fuelling required to keep the feedgas as close as possible to stoich. during throttle (and therefore load) transients.

It is NOT the same as acceleration/heavy load enrichment, in which the aim of the enrichment is to produce maximum torque.
